The world-famous movie Steel Magnolias will be the focus of the 65th Annual Natchitoches Fall Pilgrimage.  This year marks 3 decades since the beloved movie was released.  Homes and other film locations will be open for tour.

Friday, Oct. 11, the Natchitoches Historic Foundation will present the American Cemetery Mourning Tour, the location of the famous cemetery scene from the movie.

Saturday, Oct. 12, the Association For the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches will present the Tour of Steel Magnolia homes.  The Steel Magnolia House will highlight this ticket, along with numerous other locations where behind-the-scene movie secrets will be shared

Saturday evening’s ticket recreates Shelby’s wedding reception party in the Steel Magnolia House garden where you can dance to the same band as featured in the movie, and feast on armadillo cake!

The APHN will also offer a Country Tour on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 & 13, featuring Saint Augustine Church (where the wedding was filmed), and Cherokee Plantation, site of the cast party when filming was completed.

Throughout the weekend, local celebrities who starred in the film as extras will relate stories of moviemaking in and around Natchitoches during that exciting time!
