Apr. 11, 2016–Natchitoches has once again been honored; this time by Expedia, an online travel company. Expedia chose 30 towns in the United States as "Most Beautiful" and chose Natchitoches as one of the towns. The 30 towns were selected for having unique charm, breathtaking architecture and photo-worthy scenery that distinguishes each as a must see destination. A feature like this will help more people discover Natchitoches and entice visitors to make upcoming travel plans to experience the area for themselves. Some places stood out for their tranquil vistas, while others made an impression with their enchanting historic districts. Exquisite architecture, natural charm, and a little je ne sais quoi earned these places a spot on the pretty list. Expedia covered beautiful small towns in the USA, but couldn’t resist spotlighting some villages, larger-scale cities, and even islands in the nation, too. Natchitoches was chosen as a Southern gem and being nicknamed the "Bed and Breakfast Capital of Louisiana". In addition, Natchitoches was featured as having regal homes, elegant inns, Creole structures, and plantations.
