4/11/2016

NATCHITOCHES –The Natchitoches Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, City of Natchitoches Main Street Program and Northwestern State University are hosting a Louisiana Film Prize Happy Hour Event this Thursday, April 14th at the Landing Restaurant at 6:00pm. The Louisiana Film Prize's founder, Gregory Kallenberg, and other staff members will be present. The Film Prize is a contest that requires filmmakers from across the country to shoot a short narrative film in northwest Louisiana to win a prize of $50,000. The LA Film Prize was established five years ago to draw filmmakers to Shreveport-Bossier, foster the creative vibe in the region, showcase the beauty and resources of northwest Louisiana and spur economic development through the film industry. Since then, the filming boundary have been extended to include our own Natchitoches Parish thanks to our office, Natchitoches Main Street Program, and Northwestern State University. At press time, Natchitoches Parish has five filmmakers already committed to film here over the Spring and Summer months!

Please join The Happy Hour Mixer, this Thursday at 6:00pm at the Landing to meet the Film Prize staff and learn more about the Film prize and what the Prize will do for Natchitoches.
