Natchitoches, LA—Natchitoches has been voted The South's Best Small Town in Every State for Louisiana by Southern Living Magazine for the scond year in a row.

Plein Air Painting Event Coming to Natchitoches

Natchitoches, LA—Be on the lookout for easels and brushes the weekend of March 28-30, 2019. The Outdoor Painters Society will be in Natchitoches for a “paint out” event. Artists will set up on Thursday in various places along Front Street and in surrounding neighborhoods. On Friday, they will visit Melrose Plantation and the plantations of the Cane River Creole National Historical Park; and, on Saturday, paint on Lake Sibley and the Red River from Grand Ecore Visitors Center. They end their event and meet at 5:30 p.m.

6/10/2016 Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA) Leadership Academy visits Natchitoches The LTPA Leadership Academy arrived in Natchitoches Thursday, June 9th to meet with local Leaders to discuss Product Development in one of Louisiana's major tourist destinations. The Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy (LTLA) was created to build tourism leaders by increasing their knowledge, developing their leadership skills, strengthening their communication networks and informing them about the responsibilities of leadership in building and enriching their tourism-related organizations.

The Jefferson Highway

6/2/2016 The Jefferson Highway; from Pine to Palm

The Natchitoches Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomed filmmakers Josiah Laubenstein and Darrell Johnston of Highway Walkers Media to Natchitoches on May 31. They were in town documenting their journey along the 2260 mile Jefferson Highway from Winnipeg, Canada to New Orleans for its centennial year. Natchitoches is one of the towns listed on the old map from 1916.
